The lawsuit over the Korean superstar Rain canceling his Hawaii concert in 2007 has been settled outside the courtroom.
With a judge acting as intermediary between Rain, JYP Entertainment and Click Entertainment on June 10, the lawsuit was brought to a peaceful closure.
During the hearing in March, the jury judged that Rain and JYP Entertainment were to pay Click Entertainment US$8million (about S$12million).
The judge personally felt that the jury's judgment was unfair and thus compelled the three parties into a negotiation.
Rain and JYP Rntertainment had also submitted an appeal application to the Hawaiian federal court on June 2.
The judge focused on the evidence submitted by the defendants before the hearing in March this time round and maintained that the jury's judgment was without basis.
All three parties signed a confidentiality agreement to not divulge the eventual compensation amount. However, it is speculated that the sum would only comprise of the compensation for breaching the concert contract.
