[Fan Account] Six to Five Macau Fashion Concert

Again, this is an account for those of you who could not join us for this event.

26 June

Arrival

Many fans gathered early at Macau airport. Rainhk has prepared a beautiful banner to congratulate Rain’s 27 birthday. When Rain came out the scene was quite chaotic. Many fans rushed towards him and followed him out to the car. Someone must have “made some noise” which scared Rain. He shut his ears with both hands and seemed alarmed. He almost fell as he was close to the car and was pushed in.

Some fans tried to get in without success. I stood close to a security guard with some friends, as we found out that people came in and out of the conference room, and whenever the door was open, we could catch a glimpse of Rain! We saw him with a new hair style, wearing a new design 625 tee (again the CEO’s privilege) and he looked super handsome of course.

Rain did not come out from the conference room door after the press interview, (so we missed him). Instead, he walked out from another door further down and stopped in front of his own big poster to take some pictures, then walked towards the hotel exit. Some lucky fans were around and spent a most memorable 8 minutes following him!

27 June

The show

Fans started to gather outside the concert hall as early as 5 pm. Rainhk has arranged a huge birthday card for all fans to sign their names, which would have been presented to Rain at the fan meeting afterwards. At the same time, Rainhk has prepared many interesting, cute birthday gifts for Rain, as well as a gift pack filled with Rain goodies for every fan who will attend the fan meeting.

The show started at about 8.30 pm. Rain led the models out with Fresh Woman. The fashion show part was shorter than the one in Hong Kong. We clapped and waited for Designer, Producer Rain to come out at the end and to be cheered, but he did not appear. I found this slightly strange…

And then Rain’s performance began. Rainism, Touch Ya, I do, Hand Shake, Love Story, Bad Guy, How to Avoid the Sun, Not a Single Day.

Rain talked to us during the show, and his English has improved tremendously. He told us he will have a new concert in August!

Because this time I was not too close to the stage, I did not have his cute, lovely, sweet smiles and moves to have me totally mesmerized. Instead I could appreciate his singing much more than the concert in Hong Kong. And Rain’s voice and singing was beautiful that night. When he sang “Not A Single Day”, I had the feeling that he was paying tribute to Michael Jackson. The emotion was slightly different from the tender loving sadness he showed when he thought of his dear mother in heaven in other concerts. Instead, for a few lines he sang, the emotion was powerfully sad, and this registered very clearly and deeply in my mind.

The last songs were Instead of Goodbye and Its’ Raining. It’s really funny that while he was at the end of “Instead of Good Bye”, he had to keep taking the small pieces of flying paper out of his mouth!

As Rain walked back stage, the lights were suddenly on again with a huge “happy birthday” and birthday balloons on the screen. We all sang the Happy Birthday song to Rain. He waved and thanked us all and said thank you in Chinese again. He also thanked us for coming to the show despite the rain and the typhoon. When he walked back stage again, one of the dancers splashed water on him. Although the light was dim, fans saw that Rain found a water bottle close by to take his revenge at the dancer, and threw his towel at him. He was playing just like a big kid!

Fan Meeting

In fact Rainhk did warn us beforehand that the fan meeting might be cancelled and we helped spread the words around, so that fans were prepared. Therefore we were disappointed, but not surprised. I just feel sorry for some overseas fans who did not register their application via rainhk, because unlike us, they had no idea what’s going on. There was nobody from the organizer or JT side to help or explain, although we all tried our best to help each other. I tried to help two Indonesia fans but there's not much we could do. I hope all fans felt better having received the gift pack from Rainhk.

Saying Good Bye

The Macau airport was packed with fans at 1 am in the morning of 28 June. We waited until the plane took off but Rain did not appear. When we got back at the hotel entrance, my friend recognized Rain’s personal photographer. We told him many of us were at the airport. We really just wanted to say goodbye to him. He then told us that Rain was in his room. He had some drinks and now he’s sleeping. I asked him to give my “Protective Eye” gift to Rain, tell him it was a fantastic show tonight, and wish him a safe journey back.

Final Goodbye

It turned out Rain was leaving early morning of 29 June, but the plane had some technical problem and was delayed. My die hard friends journeyed from Hong Kong to Macau again to say goodbye to Mr. CEO. While they were waiting at the airport, they were touched to see that all the gifts that Rainhk has delivered via the organizer to Rain were being checked in or hand carried by JT staff. In fact one particular toy was so popular the JT staff were playing with it while waiting for the new departure time. I am sure Rain will love the gifts that Rainhk has got for him, and will snatch the toy back from his staff and play with it during the flight! He’s just a big kid after all!

And I hope the Protective Eye will shield him from all evil eyes forever!
