A high profile Korean pop star was in federal court Monday afternoon. Entertainer "Rain" is being sued by a local promoter because the singer did not perform a scheduled concert at Aloha stadium in June of '07. With security guards at his side Rain had little to say as he entered the federal courthouse.
More legal trouble for the K-pop star. Another lawsuit served against him. This one in Los Angeles for the same reason, failing to perform a concert.Rain’s concerts have sold out in Asia and he was supposed to tour North America in '07.
Even though that fell through there are still many fans who want to see Rain here. "He is an awesome performer. I saw him Las Vegas. I went to both of his shows.
And he puts on a fantastic show. It was so fantastic that when he cancelled his concert here I cried," said fan, Elaine Ikeda. And Elaine wasn’t alone in the courtroom.
These proceedings often draw just the parties involved and perhaps associates. But this one is different. "There were about, maybe 40, 50 people in the courtroom, and a majority of them were all Rain fans," Ikeda said.
Click Entertainment, the local promotion company of the "Rain" concert says it lost more than a million dollars when the '07 concert fell through. While on the witness stand, Rain testified that the details of the concert were left to the experts so that he could focus on rehearsing. He says he still looks forward to someday performing in Hawaii.
