Album sales reach 2 billion won in just 15 days

Rain, success magic... Sales reach 2 billion won in just 15 days since comeback

Profits from just album and sound source sales exceed 1 billion. 'Rainism' is number 1 on the air.

The 'Rain' frenzy is heating up the K-pop industry, now in late autumn.
The artist Rain recorded 2 billion won in sales in just two weeks after its release of his 5th album on the 15th of last month. He is sweeping the on/off-line charts as well as the music program charts of the three main broadcasting channels of Korea.

An employee from J.Tune Entertainment commented, "The profits from album sales already covered most of the production costs. This is a breakthrough, considering the reality of the K-pop business relying on sound source sales."

According to the Hanteo Charts, 64 thousand copies of Rain's 5th album was sold, up to the 2nd of this month. J.Tune said that if the sales at big bookstores are included, it would be over 80 thousand. It is a miracle of earning 1 billion in just album sales.

Rain's success streak is more than just album sales. Sound source sales are also increasing rapidly, and exports to foreign markets are continuing. The title song, 'Rainism' and listed song, 'Love Story' of his 5th album is climbing the charts in sound source sales. From the end of this month, Rain will release its licensed 5th album in various Asian countries.
It is said that he received about 4~500 million won as the down payment from Japan, China, and Thailand. In calculation, Rain earned at least 2 billion won in just 20 days after the release of his album.

J. Tune remarked, "The significance of this is that we covered most of the production costs with just the music. We are proud, that the public recognized our music. This is a successful comeback, taking into consideration the future profits from advertisement, etc. due to Rain's increased popularity."

Using this momentum, in 4 years, Rain jumped to the top of the music program charts of the three main broadcasting channels of Korea. On the 2nd, Rain received the 'Mutizen Song Award', which is number 1 on the SBS music program, 'Popular K-pop', with the title song, 'Rainism' of his 5th album.

Right after receiving the award, he said, "It's been 4 years since 'I'm Coming'. It means a lot more to me, because this song that I wrote, is like my own child." Amazingly this day, a listed song, 'Love Story' of his 5th album was also a nominated for the 1st prize on 'Take 7', as well as the title song, 'Rainism'.
